Artist’s Statement

As you peruse the gallery that includes my latest works, I hope you find it uplifting and inspiring. For twenty years I've enjoyed the wonderful opportunity of creating sculptures out of clay, casting them in bronze and marketing them to a very responsive audience. It's been an incredible journey and extremely rewarding. Of course there have been challenges along the way, but overall I feel like the past two decades have been a giant gift! I've seen unbelievable, if not miraculous things happen, and it leaves me with the knowledge that there has always been a guiding hand. I believe that we are all inspired and helped at times by the unseen world and that we all have talents and gifts that add to and make life more enjoyable. I hope you'll find that some of my works do exactly that for you. Enjoy!

About Gary Lee Price

Gary Price's intent is to "lift the human spirit through sculpture." Evidence of his success in achieving this inspirational goal is found in hundreds of individuals, corporations, cities and foundations that have acquired his works. While his figurative sculpture is diverse, including animals, birds, and mystical or historical characters, his focus in recent years has been children. Being a father of five boys certainly plays a part in his present choice of subject matter. The artist states, "What I try to do is to remain open, not pigeonhole myself to on subject matter. And although my work is constantly evolving, with each creation my goal is to end up with a piece of art that is somehow inspirational in nature. Something that lifts us to a higher plane or level."

Gary Lee Price has been sculpting professionally for over 25 years. His life-size sculptures are displayed in public and private collections in galleries, museums, libraries, corporations, cities, and educational institutions throughout the world. His most recognized and loved works include "Wings," "Journeys of Imagination," "Celebration!" "Circle of Peace," "Circle of Friends," "Synergy," "Monet's Gaggle," "Ascent," "Puffed Up Prince," and "Messenger." These powerful passionate, and spirited sculptures have had a positive impact on many people in many places.

In 1991, Gary was elected a member of the National Sculpture society. In November 2001, he received the "Governor's Mansion Artist Award," from Governor Michael Leavitt of Utah, for his outstanding support of the arts. His sculptures have graced the covers of various magazines and books and his passion for creating and giving has been the subject of many articles and stories throughout the years. In 2005, it was announced that the prolific sculptor has been selected to create the 300-foot Statue of Responsibility on the west coast of the United States. (http://www.sorfoundation.org).
